The festival took place from September 3-17, 1974 and attracted around 10,000 people. It was organised by a collective including B. Ruby Rich, Patricia Erens, Virginia Wright Wexman, Laurel Ross, who acted as festival coordinator, and several other local women. The collective also received input from Laura Mulvey, who had been involved with the Women’s Event at EIFF72.
